Gabriel Eduardo Saporta is the former lead singer, bassist, and lyricist for the punk band Midtown, and is currently the lead singer and primary creative force behind the band Cobra Starship. In 2006, Gabe and William Beckett of The Academy Is..., Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, and Maja Ivarsson of The Sounds appeared on Cobra Starship's first single, "Bring It (Snakes On A Plane)", and later appeared in a music video for the song. The song was featured on the soundtrack of the movie Snakes On A Plane and played during the closing credits of the film. The band now consists of new members Victoria Asher, Ryland Blackinton, Nate Novarro, and Alex Suarez. Saporta grew up in Springfield Township, Union County, New Jersey. He attended Rutgers University. Prior to starting Midtown, Saporta was in the New Jersey based punk rock band Humble Beginnings. Cobra Starship is signed to the Decaydance imprint on the Fueled by Ramen record label. Cobra Starship released their second album ¡Viva La Cobra! on October 23rd, 2007. On the ¡Viva La Cobra! album cover, it shows Saporta wearing a necklace with a picture of himself and a purple hoodie, this purple hoodie from American Apparel has been nicknamed the G-A-B-E hoodie.

Andrew Bishop Mrotek (aka Andy "The Butcher" Mrotek) (born July 4, 1983) is a drummer for the rock band The Academy Is.... He has a twin brother. Born and raised on Milwaukee's south side. Andy attended Elm Elementary School then Roosevelt Middle School. Mrotek graduated from Milwaukee High School of the Arts in 2001 while drumming for a band called Last Place Champs. The High School of the Arts split students in classes for their artistic talent, Andy's was visual art. A self portrait of Andy still hangs outside his art classroom doors. During high school, "The Butcher", worked at a McDonald's in his neighborhood. "The Butcher" nick name comes from his next job as a butcher at his neighborhood supermarket Pick N' Save, which he worked after graduation. Ironically, he did become a vegetarian after this. Though, after he contracted mono he was forced to quit vegetarianism. He is currently not a vegetarian. In 2004 Andy Mrotek replaced former The Academy Is... drummer DelPrincipe. After the band's debut album was released they toured with Fall Out Boy. Being a graphic artist, Mrotek designed, sketched and painted all of the posters for the Sleeping With Giants tour. He also designed his own drum kit for the tour.

William Eugene Beckett, Jr. is the lead singer of the band The Academy Is... (TAI), who are currently signed to Atlantic Records/Fueled by Ramen/Decaydance Records. While still in high school in 2002, Beckett and guitarist Mike Carden came together from rival bands in Chicago to form The Academy Is.... In addition to founding the band, Beckett and Carden are credited as the primary songwriters. In 2007, the BBC described Beckett as a mix of Adam Lazzara and Prince, labeling him "utterly captivating". On March 30, 2009 after an acoustic show in Austin Texas William got his first tattoo on his left wrist. It's a Snakes and Suits logo from a clothing company.
